I Bid Adieu

The time has come to bid adieu, or perhaps I should say “see you soon”. It really depends on you!

As I said before, here and perhaps other places, I feel the need to move to a different place. For no particular reason it’s not a WordPress site, and that has no real bearing. Not sure why I want to move my blog, just do.

The first time I did this I just relocated to another personal domain, one of the same name, but the Name/Title of the site never really twigged for me. After all, what is a “SkiDaddy”? Who is SkiDaddy?

To maintain some continuity I copied the posts from the new blog at SkiDaddy.ca to this site but it wasn’t working for me. After the creation of the new non-SkiDaddy site I even copied posts from there to both SkiDaddy sites. But, it wasn’t working for me either.

Not that my other/new site name is better, but it seems to fit the bill, at least for now. My new home will just contain a continuation of my blather, under a new umbrella. Same shit, different outhouse.

So my point for saying I Bid Adieu is to let you know of all this. If you wish to maintain a connection and follow my new posts please let me know in the comments and I will give you the address of the new site. Alternatively I could just post the name here but this is just more dramatic, don’t you think?

Goodbye, or cya later…..

Fear of the Unknown

Just recently I attempted to update some info on this blog and found I was locked out of the account settings and security features. Not a good thing! I am obviously still able to post, but not sure for how long. Fear of the unknown.

The reason is largely of my own doing. In actual fact I guess it’s ALL my own doing, by neglecting to remember/follow clear admonitions by WordPress about generating and keeping ‘restore codes’ to access my account should this exact situation occur.

What created this problem was that I changed my phone and my phone number when we moved. When doing that I lost the ability to authenticate my ownership of this blog. This only applies if you have 2 factor authentication set up, and if you fail to prepare for this eventuality.

So, the long and short of it is that I’m in discussion with the WordPress “Happiness Engineers” to possibly resolve this situation and re-establish my authenticity. If I am unable to regain my full access and control of this site I will be forced┬áto begin posting on skidaddy.ca. I have tried to move/copy my posts to skidaddy.ca but at this time only some of them have transferred. That new site is also a bit of a mess visually/organizationally at this time but hey, you do whats u gotsa do.

Wish me luck!
